Wangdi is important in the history of Bhutan because in the early days it was the country’s secondary capital. Wangdue Phodrang Dzong was founded by the Shabdrung in 1638. Legends relate that the Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal met a small boy named Wangdi playing in the sand on the banks of the Punak Chuu and was moved to name the new dzong Wangdi - later Wangdue - Phodrang (Wangdi's Palace). - Paro :: 02 Nights ::

Arrive Paro - Thimpu
On arrival at Paro Airport, you will be received by a local representative and you will then begin your experience of this mystical "Kingdom of Thunder Dragon" or "Druk Yul". Bhutan is still regarded as the last "Shangri-La's" in the Himalayan region because of its remoteness, its spectacular mountain terrain, varied flora and fauna and its unique ancient Buddhist monasteries. Evening free in Thimpu. Night halt at Thimpu.
Thimpu
Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast dep. for Thimpu local sightseeing Talkin Zoo, Thimpu view point, Taktsang Lhakhang Monastery, Folk Heritage Museum & Nationsl Textile Museum. Evening on your own. Night halt at Thimpu.
Punakha
Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast in the morning, we will drive to Punakha. On the way, we will pass by the Dochula pass (3000m) where a beautiful panoramic view of the mountain range can be seen, especially on clear skies. The place is further beautified by the 108 stupa built by the eldest Queen Mother Her Majesty Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuk. Arr. Punakha & check in at Hotel. Evening enjoy the beauty of Punakha Valley. Night halt at Punakha.
Bhumthang
After breakfast transfer to Bhumthang (5 to 6 hrs. journey). Arr. Bhumthang & check in at Hotel. Evening on your own & night halt at Bhumthang.

After breakfast visit Jamber Lhakhang, Kurje Lhakhang, Tamshing Lhakhang, Jakar Dzong & Tang Valley. Night halt at Bhumthang.
Punakha / Wangdi
Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast dep. for Wangdi/Punakha. Arr. at Punakha/Wangdi & check in at Hotel. Evening on your own. Night halt at Punakha/Wangdi.
Paro
Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast dep. for pao. Arr. Paro at 11.30 Hrs. Check in at Hotel. After fresh up visit Ta Dzong, Paro Museum, Kichu Lhakhang & Drukgyal Dzong. Back to Hotel. Night halt at Paro.
Paro
After breakfast dep. for full day excursion to Cherila Pass. Back to Hotel. Night halt at Paro.
Depart Paro
